-2024 Parish Family Picnic -
OUR KOINONIA MEN’S MINISTRY hopes everyone enjoyed the 2024 Annual Parish Picnic! It was filled with beautiful sunshine, delicious food and wonderful fellowship, not to mention delicious desserts, fun Greek music, and frappes! Thank you to our Picnic Chairman, Conrad Theodore, as well as ALL the volunteers who helped: buy the supplies, set up, grill, replenish, and of course clean up! Thank you to our donors as well: Arthur Metropulos/Dover Straits (Rice), Dina Boufis/Gus’ Grille (Green Beans), Steve Demet (Salad), Jimmy Nicolau (Gyro, Pita, Tzatziki, and Gyro Machine), and of course our Philoptochos (Desserts), and Sunday School Teachers (Frappe Stand). See you next year on September 7, 2025 – Mark Your Calendars!
- 2023 PARISH FAMILY PICNIC -
The 2023 Parish Family Picnic took place on September 10th at Banner Day Camp. We thank the Ascension Koinonia Men’s Ministry for bringing parishioners together in “Koinonia” to kick off the new Ecclesiastical year! Like in years past, the weather was almost as perfect as the food, the frappes, the family fellowship and the fun. Men's Ministry thanks everyone who contributed to this wonderful event from set-up to clean-up -- including organizers, financial donors, food donors, chefs, servers, runners, bakers, frappe makers and clean-up crews -- thank you and God bless you!
A BLESSED EVENT - THE 2022 PARISH FAMILY PICNIC
Mother Nature provided the perfect weather for our September 18, 2022 Parish Family picnic where phenomenal food, deserts, frappes, fellowship, family and fun filled the afternoon!
The Koinonia Men’s Ministry would like to thank everyone, both those from Koinonia and those from outside the Koinonia Ministry, who contributed to this wonderful event from set-up to clean-up -- including organizers, financial donors, food donors, chefs, servers, runners, entertainers, bakers, frappe makers and clean-up crews -- thank you and God bless you! Koinonia would also like to thank everyone who gave a free-will donation at the picnic.
Ascension's free-will donations, which totaled $1,745, will be donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide nutritious food and resources for our neighbors. We thank the good Lord, and thank you all, for making the picnic a wonderful event. We are already looking forward to next year’s Parish Picnic.
